We know from experience when Duty Managers and Supervisors perform well, the whole Club performs well! There is consistency in service delivery, staff morale is high and patrons are happy. Unfortunately, it takes more than practical skills training to build a great team.
Many Duty Managers and Supervisors are promoted to their role because they are good at tending bar, housekeeping or front of house. However they may not have any experience in actual management and “being a boss” can be difficult and challenging when you are on a steep learning curve.
This inexperience can also mean that management staff often feel isolated and believe that senior management don’t want to hear their suggestions or would never implement them.
Many clubs run skills development programs for Duty Managers and Supervisors that cover the basics like instructing staff. But we know, no matter how good the training, the challenge is to get Duty Managers and Supervisors working as a team, thinking about the Club in general and being proactive in their duties.
OOPS have developed a program that takes management skills to a whole new level.
